Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s fans were left shocked last year when the rumours of their separation made headlines. While both the actors never directly addressed their divorce speculations, it was said that the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actress was living with her mother and not with her actor-husband. However, ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar has now revealed that Aishwarya often used to visit her mother’s place because of her health issues.
“I live in her building and I know how much time she spends in the building. She comes to her mother’s house because her mother is not keeping well. Aishwarya would drop her daughter to school and then would go and pick her up. In between she had time to kill so she would visit her mother, spend time with
her mom. She then picks up her daughter and goes home. I know how close she is to her mom and is concerned about her,” Kakkar, who lives in the same building as that of Aishwarya’s mother, told Vickey Lalwani.
The filmmaker also called Aishwarya and Abhishek’s divorce rumours ‘rubbish’. When asked about the reports that the actress was considering divorce from Abhishek because of issues with his mother, Jaya Bachchan, and sister, Shweta Bachchan, Kakar explained, “So what? She is the bahu of the house and she still runs the house. I knew there was no truth in it. Because I knew why she was there. People were saying she was scapegoating from her marriage and living with her mother. She wasn’t living with her mother. She was just coming and spending time with her while her daughter was at school. And she didn’t come on Sundays. I knew her concerns for her mother. Sometimes, Abhishek also came with her to visit her mother.”
Revealing why neither Aishwarya nor Abhishek ever addressed their divorce speculations, Kakkar shared, “If you notice, neither Abhishek nor Aishwarya have given a comment on this. Why should they? Tum Bhaukte raho. She has always kept her dignity and journalists hated her for that.”

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai tied the knot in 2007 and are parents to a girl, Aaradhya Bachchan. However, rumours of trouble in their marriage shocked everyone last year. It all started after the couple appeared separately for the media at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding. Later, Aishwarya also shared photos from daughter Aaradhya’s birthday bash, which did not feature any of the Bachchan family members, including Abhishek. Abhishek was also not seen cheering for Aishwarya during her Cannes appearance this year.

Previously, Amitabh Bachchan had shared a post seemingly addressing speculations surrounding their family’s personal affairs. “I rarely say much about family, because that is my domain and its privacy is maintained by me ..
