Actor Sudhir Dalvi, who is widely remembered for his portrayal in Shirdi Ke Sai Baba, was hospitalised in October 2025 after developing “life-threatening complications caused by sepsis”. His prolonged hospital stay also placed a significant financial burden on his family as medical expenses continued to mount. According to his wife, Suhas Dalvi, several Bollywood actors, including Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, and Akshay Kumar, came forward to extend financial assistance to the family during the difficult period.
In a recent interview with Subhash K Jha for BollySpice, Sudhir Dalvi’s wife revealed that the actor has returned home and is currently recovering. She added that he is still using a walker to move around. She said, “He is at home now.
He still has to walk with the help of a walker, and his mind is disoriented. But he is happy to be home. So am I. The hospital was not only expensive, the aura of being in a hospital is also very intimidating for a patient.”
She went on to reveal that several Bollywood actors came forward to help them financially. She added, “When the news spread that we were unable to meet hospital bills, many from the film industry came forward to help financially. I can’t immediately recall all the names. But Kartik Aaryan, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar were among the first to help. There were so many others from the film industry and outside. My husband is best known for playing Sai Baba. So many Sai bhakts came forward to help. Who says we’ve become a heartless people? The love and generosity after my husband’s illness is overwhelming.”
Suhas revealed that they had even asked the film association, which had been providing them with financial assistance every month, to redirect the money to someone who needed it more. She explained that Sudhir had received the medical treatment he needed and that, at this stage, all he required was people’s prayers. According to her, his recovery has been gradual. She also shared that she is elderly and suffers from asthma, but continues to do everything she can to care for her husband while managing things on her own.
Sudhir Dalvi was hospitalised at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital in October 2025 after a severe infection affected his joints and mobility, resulting in a prolonged ICU stay. His treatment cost nearly ₹10 lakh, with expenses expected to exceed ₹15 lakh. In December 2025, the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust stepped in and reportedly donated ₹11 lakh towards his medical expenses.
