According to reports, actor Allu Arjun and director Lokesh Kanagaraj are currently involved in early preparations for the film, with a trial shoot reportedly being conducted in Mumbai.

According to a report by Aakashavaani, Allu Arjun and director Lokesh Kanagaraj are currently busy with the initial stages of AA23. And reportedly, the team is conducting a trial shoot with Allu Arjun in Mumbai on June 26, 2026, rather than filming material for a first-look reveal.

Recently, film’s co-writer Rathna Kumar shared an update. He revealed that the groundwork for the film is

progressing, with the team gearing up to begin shooting soon. Speaking with Galatta Plus, Rathna Kumar was quoted as saying, “I think it’s a proper pan-Indian film, not because of the stars, the central character, or the setting, but because the story has a very international appeal. When Allu Arjun sir is doing the film, we can get whatever we need to shape it the way we want. It was very exciting to interact with him. The work is progressing at a brisk pace. We already spent three weeks in discussions with him, and work will begin in the second week of May.”
