Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar is making waves at the box office! The film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in just 3 days and is showing no signs of slowing down. While Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna are
being widely praised for their performances, Gaurav Gera has taken the audience by surprise with his strikingly unrecognisable look in the film. He plays Mohammad Aalam, a middle-aged man running a juice shop in Lyari’s main market. His stills from the film went viral, with fans pointing out that he looks so different in this avatar. Now, the actor has reacted to his unrecognisable spy look and also shared that he is overwhelmed with all the love and appreciation coming his way.
Gaurav Gera On His Unrecognisable Look In Dhurandhar
In an interview with Zoom, Gaurav Gera said that he has been reading the comments and is overwhelmed by all the love. “I’ve read online comments. They make me so happy, some even brought tears. It’s a lovely time and I’ve been waiting for it for so long,” he said. He further added that he feels so happy and lucky that he got the opportunity to be a part of this film. “After playing such varied characters including Chutki, I was waiting for an opportunity where I can show various shades of my craft. Sometimes an actor gets typecast and the audience doesn’t realise what he/she is capable of. Dhurandhar is such a film that allowed me to explore a side of me which viewers hadn’t seen until now,” he said.
Gaurav, who is famously known for Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, reacted to his completely different avatar in Dhurandhar. “Of course, my character looked way older than how I look. In fact, people don’t realise my actual age. The film’s team even cut my hair shorter than usual. I sported a white beard, which in reality is white (laughs) due to all these years of makeup. But yeah, people finally saw the real me,” Gaurav said.
