He accounted for the dismissal of one Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter in the IPL 2026 final on Sunday to take his tally to 29 wickets.

He finished the season with one more wicket than RCB pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvneshwar played 16 matches for the Rajat Patidar-led side and got rid of 28 batters.
In the list of bowlers with the most wickets in IPL 2026, Rabada and Bhuvneshwar were followed by Jofra Archer. The English pacer played 16 matches for Rajasthan Royals and picked up 25 wickets.

Rabada is the fourth bowler in IPL history to win the Purple Cap twice. He had also topped the wicket-takers’ list in the 2020 edition of the IPL. He played 17 matches for Delhi Capitals that season under Shreyas Iyer’s leadership and dismissed 30 batters.
Dwayne Bravo of Chennai Super Kings was the first player to win the Purple Cap twice in the IPL. He finished as the highest wicket-taker in the 2013 and 2015 editions.
Bhuvneshwar won back-to-back Purple Caps in 2016 and 2017 as a Sunrisers Hyderabad player, while Harshal Patel won the Purple Cap with RCB in 2021 and as a Punjab Kings player in 2024.
