Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batters breathed fire while chasing a daunting target set by Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in IPL 2026 encounter played on Wednesday. The dangerous opening duo of Abhishek Sharma (45 off 24) and Travis Head (76 off 30) put together 129 runs for the opening partnership with the target of 244 on the scoreboard. Heinrich Klaasen brought up his fourth half-century of the season, as the Australian batter continued his rain of runs. He remained unbeaten for 65 in 30 deliveries. Klaasen, placed second on the Orange Cap table with 414 runs in 9 innings, took home the Player of the Match award.
Despite the blitzkrieg provided by several SRH batters, it was a young SRH batter who caused the most noise on the Indian
Internet. Yes, it was Salil Arora’s “no-look” maximum against MI pacer and veteran Jasprit Bumrah that became the highlight of the night as fans gushed over the audacity of the cricketer from Punjab.
Who Is Salil Arora?
Salil struck at a strike rate of 300, remaining unbeaten for 30* in just 10 deliveries against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede. His late fireworks eased the run and ball gap and helped SRH achieve the target with ease. The 23-year-old joined the Orange Army after he was secured for Rs 1.50 crore in the IPL 2026 auction.

The SRH batter made a mark with a debut century in the Ranji Trophy (2024-25) against Madhya Pradesh. The explosive wicketkeeper-batter made an impact in the 2025–26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), plundering 358 runs in 8 matches for Punjab. It was, however, his 39-ball century against Jharkhand that remains his breakthrough performance. Salil’s onslaught earned him an SRH call. He was the only player signed by SRH for more than Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2026 auction before the second round of the accelerated auction.
Salil’s ‘No-look’ Six To Jasprit Bumrah
Showing no respect to the best in the business, Salil smacked a ‘no-look’ six to Jasprit Bumrah during MI vs SRH, bringing the Wankhede crowd on its feet. He picked the full length by Bumrah cleanly as he lobbed the MI pacer over the long-off region. He completed the shot without his eyes following the ball as his head remained still during the fearless maximum.

The shot came during SRH’s run chase in the second innings when the Ishan Kishan-led side were batting at 226-4 in 17.4 overs. Hyderabad needed 18 off 14 before the six that disappeared in the night sky.
Shot Of The Season?
Many IPL viewers spoke in unison and called Salil’s atrocious play shot of the season. The six carried more weightage as it was smacked against Bumrah, the backbone of the Mumbai Indians’ bowling unit. Bumrah, who went wicketless for 54 runs in his four overs against SRH, has appeared jaded and proven expensive in the ongoing tournament. The premier bowler quickly turned around and walked back to his mark after that six.
Mad respect for Salil Arora.

“Hitting Bumrah for six isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Salil Arora what a hit,” remarked one X user.
Further Dent In Mumbai Indians’ 2026 Journey
Mumbai Indians’ torrid run continued as they posted their sixth loss this season. The five-time IPL champions have registered only two wins as the celebrated franchise languishes at the bottom of the points table. While still mathematically alive in the IPL playoffs race, MI must win nearly all their remaining matches to make it to the next round. They will also be heavily dependent on results from other teams to keep their campaign alive.
