Pawan Kalyan’s OG 2 was one of the most talked-about projects in Telugu cinema. The film was released in 2025 and it became a huge hit. And nowfresh industry buzz suggests that plans for a sequel may already be taking shape. According to the latest reports, director Sujeeth has been actively working on the script for OG 2.

As reported by 123 Telugu, director Sujeeth has been actively working on the script for OG 2. And reports suggest that the director is nearing completion of the screenplay and is preparing to narrate the story to Pawan Kalyan soon. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.

Pawan Kalyan CONFIRMS OG Sequel And Prequel

In 2025, speaking at the They Called Him OG success meet, Pawan Kalyan shared how OG reignited his passion

for cinema while he continues to shoulder his political responsibilities as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The actor recalled his first meeting with Sujeeth, saying, “It is easy to write a story, but it is difficult to bring it to life on screen. Initially, I was not aware of OG’s full story and only met Sujeeth after director Trivikram mentioned his name. Sujeeth then told me, ‘You will be a Japanese-like gangster, holding a sword and carrying a gun.’ I did not fully understand the story at that time, but when I saw my son reading the notes with joy, I realised that this story is relevant for this generation.”

Kalyan added that the film’s positive reception has motivated him to balance both worlds—cinema and politics, “So I told him (Sujeeth) to let us work on a sequel and prequel to OG. I know how frustrating it can be when a film fails, but OG has given me the motivation to do films again. I want to continue the OG world in the time I get.”

Expanding the OG Universe

The announcement has left fans excited about exploring both the backstory of Ojas Gambheera and his future beyond the events of the current film. With Sujeeth at the helm, the prequel is expected to dive deeper into OG’s origins, while the sequel could explore how his world evolves after the climactic events of the 1993-set storyline.
