MEIL, Analog join hands to invest up to USD 500 million in Physical Intelligence

Hyderabad, Jul 1 (PTI) MEIL and Abu Dhabi-based Analog on Wednesday formed a JV in the field of physical intelligence.

The joint venture plans to invest USD 300-500 million over the next three to four years, a top MEIL executive said.

Physical intelligence refers to the ability of machines to perceive, understand and interact with the physical world through continuous learning rather than rigid programming.

Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited Managing Director P V Krishna Reddy said the sector offers significant opportunities and that the company is currently executing a couple of pilot projects.

Commercial rollout is expected to begin within the next three months.

“We plan to invest nearly USD 300-500 million in the physical intelligence

space over the next three to four years,” Reddy told reporters at a press conference.

MEIL Group reported revenues of about Rs 60,000 crore in the last fiscal, and the infrastructure major currently has an order book of nearly Rs 2.5 lakh crore.

“Infrastructure has always been the foundation of progress. The future of infrastructure is intelligent, connected and adaptive. That is exactly what this partnership builds. We are proud to work with Analog to bring physical intelligence to India,” Reddy said.

Alex Kipman, Founder and CEO of Analog, declined to disclose financial details but said the venture was a 50:50 joint venture that would operate independently.

“MEIL brings the reach. Analog brings intelligence. Together, we will work across infrastructure, mobility, industrial systems, public safety, urban transformation and intelligent operations,” Kipman said.

He said the partnership would drive deployments across intelligent infrastructure and mobility, smart urban systems, advanced sensing and operational intelligence, robotics and spatial computing, industrial transformation, public safety and AI-enabled real-world environments.

A pilot project on intelligent traffic management is currently underway with the Hyderabad police. PTI GDK SSK
