Looks like Karan Johar is ready to bring back the magic of big-screen romance once again! After his 2023 hit Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the filmmaker is reportedly gearing up for his next directorial. And guess who’s leading the show? None other than his long-time favourite, Alia Bhatt. The actor, who has often called Karan her mentor, is said to be the first name locked for the film. And if reports are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal are being considered for the male leads.
Karan Johar Reunites With Alia Bhatt
According to a report by Mid-Day, the yet-untitled project will mark the third time Karan and Alia collaborate after Student of the Year and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Though Karan hasn’t made an official announcement
yet, the news of Alia’s casting has already set the internet talking. As per the report, both Ranbir and Vicky have been approached to play the leading men.
The Trio’s On-Screen History
Interestingly, all three stars share a strong cinematic connection. Alia and Ranbir previously starred together in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, a film that not only became a box office success but also marked the beginning of their real-life love story. The two are now married and share a daughter named Raha. Ranbir and Vicky, on the other hand, were seen together in Sanju, while Alia and Vicky’s pairing in Raazi earned widespread praise. And if that wasn’t enough, the trio is currently busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited film Love & War.
Love & War Heads to Italy
Speaking of Love & War, Bhansali’s grand romantic saga is reportedly moving its final schedule to Italy for the film’s climactic scenes. According to Pinkvilla, the team has already wrapped over 120 days of shoot, including an elaborate schedule in Mumbai. A source revealed, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going international with Love & War. The director is going to shoot the climax scene of the film in Sicily, Italy. It’s planned as a massive schedule across the city, making this one of the grandest shoots of the film.”
The Italy schedule is expected to last about a month, capturing some of the country’s most scenic backdrops for what’s said to be one of Bhansali’s most visually stunning films yet. The movie, starring Alia, Ranbir, and Vicky, is slated for release in March 2026.
