A new video for De De Pyaar De 2 shows Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan having fun with their role switch from Shaitaan. In the clip, Madhavan plays the protective father who tells Ajay to stay away from his
daughter. Ajay brings up how things were different in Shaitaan. Back then, he was the one asking Madhavan to stay away from his daughter, but Madhavan was being a Shaitaan.
Now you know how it feels when it’s about your daughter, Ajay says. Madhavan admits that was his “villain mode,” now he’s in “parivarik papa” mode. Ajay calls him the dushman of their love. When Madhavan says he’ll see how Ajay takes his daughter, Ajay tells him to come watch on November 14.

R Madhavan Praises Ajay’s Work Style
Earlier at the trailer launch, R Madhavan spoke highly about working with Ajay Devgn. He talked about something he noticed while shooting Shaitaan, Ajay always thinks about what’s best for the film, not just his image as a hero. He never says “main hero hoon toh mujhe aisi cheezein mat kaho” (I’m the hero, so don’t make me do such things), Madhavan shared.
He admitted that some roles Ajay takes would be hard for most leading actors to accept, and even he might have said no to them. “The amount of enthusiasm that he showed for all of us, we got a chance to perform freely,” Madhavan explained. He did mention one tricky part, though, playing a father in De De Pyaar De 2 was challenging for him. His words show how much both actors respect each other’s work.
From Dark Thriller to Light Comedy
After doing the intense thriller Shaitaan in 2024, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan are doing something completely different with De De Pyaar De 2. Shaitaan was about a father trying to save his family from dark supernatural forces. This film is the opposite, all about romance, comedy, and dealing with family. The story continues from where the first film left off, but this time adds the classic problem of meeting your girlfriend’s parents.
Madhavan plays Rakul Preet Singh’s protective dad while Gautami Kapoor plays her mom, which sets up lots of funny situations. Director Anshul Sharma is giving the series a new feel. Going from a scary thriller to a funny rom-com shows that both actors can do very different kinds of roles. Fans want to see how their friendship translates into comedy after they worked so well together in the thriller.
