Jana Nayagan Producer Says Vijay's Film Is Yet To Be Certified: 'Release Date Will Be Announced...'

Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, has been hitting headlines ever since it has remained in limbo with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film was sent to the revising committee shortly before its scheduled January release, delaying its certification indefinitely. During this period, several major developments unfolded. Vijay became the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, and an HD print of the movie leaked online. Nearly five months later, it is still awaiting certification.

Recently, the producer of the film, Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions, spoke to the press after he was seen at a temple on Friday evening. Although he was initially reluctant to comment on the film’s status, he eventually confirmed that it is still

awaiting certification. He added that he hopes the process will be completed soon, allowing the makers to proceed with a worldwide release. He said, “This is not the place to talk about Jana Nayagan. I came for temple darshan. But as I told, we’re waiting for certificate to come. I am sure that they’re going to give it anytime soon. We’ll release at the earliest. This is not the place to talk about anything else, thank you. I came here to take God’s blessings.”

He also revealed that the new release date of Vijay‘s film will be announced soon. Venkat added, “Release date will be (announced) as soon as we get censor certificate. We’ll announce it well in advance once the censor certificate is in our hands. And we’ll release it in a grand way throughout the world.” Further, he expressed happiness about Vijay becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

“I came here for darshan and I am very happy that Vijay sir has become chief minister of Tamil Nadu. As you know, we have put the title Jana Nayagan. He has become Jana Nayagan of Tamil Nadu, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. I am very happy. That’s why I came for darshan,” he concluded.

The film was originally slated for a theatrical release on January 9 during the Pongal festival, but the makers ended up postponing it. Fans are especially eager to watch Vijay on the big screen, as the film is expected to be his last before fully stepping into politics. The actor has already begun his political journey, making the film even more significant for his supporters.
