Doordarshan celebrates 67th Foundation Day

New Delhi, Sep 15 (PTI) Doordarshan, the television wing of public broadcaster Prasar Bharati, celebrated its 67th foundation day on Tuesday with an evening of music, dance and entertainment.

The celebration, held at Doordarshan Bhawan in Mandi House, was themed ‘Doordarshan@67 – Kal Bhi Apna, Aaj Bhi Apna’ and marked the broadcaster’s over six-decade journey and its association with generations of viewers.

Singer Jyoti Nooran performed at the event, while Shikha Khare and her group presented a fusion dance performance titled ‘Rhythm Without Borders’.

The programme also featured an interaction with personalities associated with Doordarshan’s upcoming serials ‘Sanskar’ and ‘Suraag 2.0,’ as well as some of its popular past shows, including K C Bokadia,

Mahesh Thakur, Aman Verma, Darshan Jariwala, Pankaj Berry, Sudesh Berry, Sai Ketan Rao, Jigyasa Singh, and Rehan Shahrukh Mirzabeig.

Namitaa Sachdeva and actor-comedian Ali Asgar hosted the evening.

Prasar Bharati said Doordarshan has remained a part of India’s social and cultural landscape for more than six decades and continues to adapt to new platforms and technologies while retaining its public service mandate.
