The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) held an internal review meeting after the disappointing Bihar Assembly elections results. During the meeting, Tejashwi Yadav acknowledged that the results were far below
the party’s expectations and said the scale of the loss had not been visible “even from a distance” during the campaign.
The leadership carried out a seat-by-seat assessment, focusing especially on constituencies where candidates were defeated by narrow margins.
Tejashwi reportedly asked senior leaders and district heads to examine the reasons behind such close losses. He questioned whether the problem lay with the organisation, voting patterns, or the functioning of electronic voting machines. He told party members that if anyone had evidence of any irregularities, they should submit it, and the party would raise the matter at the highest level.
Meanwhile, party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav strongly backed his son during the meeting. He told leaders that Tejashwi had worked hard for the organisation and would continue to play a key role in leading the party forward.
He emphasised that Tejashwi had helped strengthen the RJD in difficult circumstances and deserved full support.
RJD’s Meeting And Lalu Yadav’s Family Feud
The meeting comes at a time when the Yadav family is facing a public dispute involving Lalu’s daughter Rohini Acharya. After the alliance’s heavy defeat, Rohini accused some family members of mistreating her, claiming she was humiliated during a recent confrontation at home. Her comments triggered a political and personal storm.
Rohini was spotted in the national capital on Sunday as she left the home of her sister, Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti. Speaking to reporters, she said she stood by every word she had posted on social media.
“Whatever I had to say, I have said on my social media. I have not lied about anything that happened. Rohini jo bolti hai sach bolti hai (Whatever Rohini says is the truth). You may go and ask all of this to Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Rachel Yadav, and Rameez. My father has always been by my side. My parents and my sisters were crying for me yesterday. I am blessed to have parents like them,” she told reporters.
Earlier in a series of posts on X, Rohini alleged she had been “humiliated,” “abused,” and even threatened. She wrote emotionally about leaving her parents’ home in tears and insisted she had only stood up for her self-respect.
After announcing that she was quitting politics, Rohini said she was travelling to Mumbai to stay with her mother-in-law, who has been worried since the incident.
She also accused Tejashwi Yadav and his aide Sanjay Yadav of forcing her out. “I have no family… They are the ones who threw me out of the family,” she claimed.
Bihar Assembly Elections and RJD’s Defeat
The RJD, which contested more than 140 seats but won only 25, has not officially responded to Rohini’s allegations. Party leaders say the organisation is currently focused on understanding its electoral setback.
