Sunny Deol or Sunny Deol 2.0? Whatever it may be, his resurgence in the industry is something to be proud of. After giving a blockbuster hit like Gadar 2 in 2023, Sunny is back with yet another winner in hand, Border 2. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film was released on January 23, and it also starred Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, and Anya Singh in key roles. It has been enjoying a delightful run at the box office. As the film continues to win hearts, the team of Border 2 hosted a celebratory meet and greet with the media on February 12 in Mumbai. During the interaction, Sunny remembered his late father and the legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away in November 2025.

Sunny a ‘bankable star’ in the industry today and also called him Sunny Deol 2.0 while appreciating his resurgence. The reporter further asked him how he looks at the love and appreciation coming his way from the audience. Deol jokingly said, “Itne saal pata nahi kahan chuppa hua tha (I don’t know where I was hiding all these years.) It’s really sweet. I just want to say this to everyone – work hard, love your profession, don’t get disheartened and time is something—you never know when it will come and when it will go but you should be ready for it.”
Further, he added, “That’s what it is. This is my father’s blessing, it is Waheguru ji’s grace upon me. The people loved me before as well, and they are loving me even today. Wherever I go, I receive so much love. Now I feel that even the industry has realised that people across the country want to see me, so I will definitely keep doing movies (laughs).”
Sunny has an interesting line of movies coming up. He has collaborated with Aamir Khan and Preity Zinta for Lahore 1947, which is slated to hit theatres on Independence Day 2026. During his appearance today, Sunny confirmed he also has a film titled Gabru in the pipeline. This one, too, will hit theatres this year.
