Gone are the days when vanity vans used to be a necessity. Today, they have become a symbol of status. Recently, vanity van vendor Ketan Raval also explained the same in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India when he shared details of luxurious vanity vans owned by some of our favourite stars – Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Kangana Ranaut.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Vanity Van Is Grand
Ketan revealed that Shah Rukh Khan’s vanity van is so grand and luxurious that it often becomes difficult to accommodate it in tight spaces when the superstar is shooting at remote locations. Therefore, in such situations, SRK takes vanity vans on rent. “Shah Rukh sir’s van is so big that sometimes, he can’t take it to those remote locations. I send my van whenever he has to shoot in tight spaces,”
Ketan said.

John Abraham’s ‘Black Toilet’ Demand
Ketan also revealed that when John Abraham was getting interiors of his vanity van done, he had a special demand of a black toilet. “John wanted floor-to-ceiling window so he could look out and let natural light flood the space. But he also insisted on everything being black – the floor, the walls, the sink, even the toilet. Nothing that isn’t black. So the only light entering is framed by an entirely dark box,” he said.
Kangana Ranaut’s Vanity With Interior Of Sheesham Wood
Prateek Malewar, who collaborates with his partner Apurva Deshmukh on building vanity vans, also shared details of Kangana Ranaut’s vanity van while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India. He revealed that the actress-turned-politician’s vanity has interiors crafted with sheesham wood.
It should be noted that the average maintenance cost of a van is around ₹10-15 lakh. As far as the cost is concerned, a top-tier ‘super van’ with multi-room layouts and expandable living space is roughly around ₹2–3 crore. One can also buy a vanity van for around ₹75 lakh to ₹1 crore. It will be equipped with Italian marble and will even have gym facilities. A basic vanity van with air conditioning is priced between ₹15–20 lakh.
