After reuniting for Ek Din, Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan may already be considering their next creative venture. The duo is reportedly exploring an adaptation of Mansoor Khan’s novel One: The Story of the Ultimate Myth, though the project is still in its very early stages. Aamir Khan clarified that while the idea excites him, there has been no concrete progress yet.
After reuniting for Ek Din nearly two decades after their last collaboration, Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan may already have their next project in mind — an adaptation of Mansoor’s novel ‘One: The Story of the Ultimate Myth’.
In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir revealed his plans to work on Mansoor’s book. “I love what the book is saying, and I love the characters
he’s written — not just the two lead characters, but all the characters actually. I think it’s a fantastically written book,” he said.
He also mentioned that the project is still in the early stages. “It’s not an easy book to adapt to a screenplay but I have been telling Mansoor for the last few years since I read the book that this is something I would like to work on. Now, whether we succeed in converting it into a screenplay that works for us, I don’t know,” he said. “I certainly want to give it a shot,” he said, revealing that once Ek Din releases, he plans to spend time with Mansoor in Coonoor to brainstorm the adaptation.
About Ek Din
Backed by Aamir Khan, the film marks a key moment for his son Junaid Khan, who stars opposite Sai Pallavi in her first Hindi-language project. The film adapts the 2016 Thai movie One Day, centring on a quiet, unspoken love story between colleagues. The narrative follows a young man who harbours feelings for a woman but never confesses them until an unexpected twist gives him exactly one day to live that reality.
Aamir Khan Confirms 3 Idiots Sequel
While speaking to Amar Ujala, Aamir Khan shared details about the sequel. He revealed that he has heard the story and it’s “wonderful.” The actor said, “Raju is working on 3 Idiots 2 right now. I’ve heard the story and it’s wonderful.” Aamir further added, “The script still needs some work, but the story itself is really good — unusual, with the same humour as the first film. It follows the characters from 3 Idiots, picking up 10 years later.” Aamir expressed his excitement about playing Phunsukh Wangdu again. He said, “It’s a beautiful story conceived by Raju and Abhijat. I’m looking forward to it, and to playing Phunsukh Wangdu again.”
