'Second Lady Can Speak For Herself': JD Vance Laughs Off Jen Psaki's 'Save Usha' Remark

US Vice-President JD Vance laughed off former press secretary Jen Psaki’s comments about his wife Usha Vance, saying they were “disgraceful” and that the “Second Lady can speak for herself”.

The reaction

by JD Vance comes after Jen Psaki made a joke about how Usha Vance “needs to be saved” from her husband, during a podcast in which she also said she found him “scarier” than US President Donald Trump.

“I think it’s disgraceful, but of course the second lady can speak for herself,” Vance told Fox News. “I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife, and I know — at least I hope — that my wife feels the same about me. I’m honored to have Usha by my side.”

Psaki was, however, brutally trolled for her comments with the White House launching a blistering attack on her. In fact, Trump aide Steven Cheung could not keep the expletives at bay, calling her a “dumb***” and a “moron”.

During her podcast appearance, she joked that Usha was “scared” of JD. The showrunners used her line as a description on YouTube and Spotify: “Usha Vance, please blink twice if you need help.”

The MSNBC host described Vance as “young and ambitious”, adding that “he’s willing to do anything to get there” and “makes himself whatever he thinks people want to hear”. She said she sometimes wonders if Usha Vance “is OK”, adding: “Please blink four times. We’ll come over here. We’ll save you.”
