Chennai’s iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium will host the third and final ODI of the ongoing three-match series between India and Afghanistan on Saturday (June 20). India have won both the matches played so far in the first-ever bilateral ODI series between the two teams, and on Saturday, the Men in Blue will look to secure another victory and complete a clean sweep of the series.
Indian batters, especially captain Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, have impressed with their performances in the ongoing home assignment, and both will be eager to score big in the final ODI as well. In the bowling department, Gurnoor Brar has already picked up six wickets in the series, and the young pacer from Punjab will be keen to cap off his memorable debut series with another
strong performance in Chennai.
Afghanistan, on the other hand, will be aiming to end the series on a winning note and avoid the embarrassment of losing all four matches during their tour of India. They will expect collective contributions from the likes of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and Allah Ghazanfar.
