What Caused The Unusual Red Sky?

In this case, the effect was amplified by strong winds associated with Cyclone Narelle. The system lifted significant amounts of dust into the air, intensifying the colour shift and making the sky appear far more vivid than typical dust-related events.

Officials in Perth and nearby regions reassured residents that the spectacle, although dramatic, was not considered dangerous. While dust storms can sometimes affect air quality and visibility, events like this rarely pose a major threat to public safety.
