Jaipur, Jun 3 (PTI) Light rainfall was recorded at isolated places in eastern Rajasthan during the 24 hours ending Wednesday morning, while parts of western Rajasthan witnessed light rain and dust storms, the Meteorological Centre here said.
Ramgarh in Jaisalmer district recorded the highest rainfall of 15 mm during the period, while Phalodi registered the state’s highest maximum temperature at 42.2 degrees Celsius.
A fresh western disturbance is expected to become active over the state from Wednesday, due to which thunderstorm and rainfall activity are likely in parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Udaipur and Kota divisions on June 3 and 4.
Strong dust storms with wind speeds of 60-70 kmph are likely at isolated places during
the period, it said.
According to the department, the impact of the rain and storm activity is expected to keep maximum temperatures below 43 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state over the next week, providing relief from heatwave conditions. PTI SDA SHS
