For fans living around Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic Mumbai home, Sundays already feel special. But for one neighbour, a simple request turned into a memory of a lifetime. The Bollywood legend recently surprised a long-time admirer by inviting him inside Jalsa, proving once again why his gestures mean as much as his films.
Amitabh Bachchan, who makes it a point to step out every Sunday to greet fans gathered outside his residence, recently extended the warmth beyond the gates. His neighbour, Nirmit Jesrani, had expressed his wish to meet the actor in person — a request that Bachchan personally fulfilled by inviting him over for a meet-and-greet.
On Monday, Nirmit shared a video on Instagram recounting the emotional experience. He said February 8 would
always remain unforgettable for him, as it marked the day he finally met the superstar. During the visit, Bachchan not only gave him an autograph — which Nirmit plans to frame — but also gifted him a T-shirt printed with the actor’s photograph. Expressing his joy, he said, “I am so happy, meri khushi ka toh thikana hi nahi hai (My happiness knows no bounds). I was called to Jalsa at 5 pm. My appointment was fixed with sir.”

He also described the warm reception his family received at Bachchan’s residence. Recalling the moment, he shared, “I got a message from Big B’s team that sir would meet us at 5. We waited for sir; he came, and we saw Sunday Darshan live, with our own eyes, and that too from his house. When he came, we touched his feet, but he stopped us from doing that. He very sweetly posed for a group photo, and then I requested him for a solo picture, and he agreed. He even let us click the picture on our own phone. He’s so humble and down to earth, I just can’t explain. For the first time, I got the opportunity to go to his house. I still can’t believe I went to Amitabh sir’s house and met him in person. It’s a big deal. Thank you so much, sir, for giving me the opportunity to meet you. Dreams do come true.”
Along with the video, Nirmit captioned the post, “Still can’t believe this happened. Met the one and only Amitabh Bachchan ji — beyond grateful for this humble opportunity and his incredibly sweet gesture. Witnessed Sunday Darshan live from his house and wow… the energy was absolutely CRAZY! Truly unforgettable.”
Bachchan’s Sunday tradition of greeting fans outside Jalsa has become a ritual over the years. The actor has often acknowledged this love in his blog posts, thanking fans for patiently waiting outside his home week after week.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will next be seen in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film also stars Prabhas and Kamal Haasan in key roles. While Deepika Padukone featured in the first instalment, she is no longer part of the sequel. Reports suggest Sai Pallavi has stepped in, though an official confirmation from the makers is still awaited.
