Puducherry, Aug 13 (PTI) Puducherry police arrested three persons from Ranipet in Tamil Nadu in connection with house breaking and theft in Indira Nagar housing colony here in July, an official said on Thursday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (law and order) R Kalaivanan said in a release that the inmate of the house complained to the police that the main door of the house was found broken open by some unidentified persons.
The complainant also stated that gold jewels weighing 45 sovereigns and Rs 10,000 in cash were missing.
The police official said that a case was registered and investigation was immediately taken up. He said that a special investigation team was formed who requisitioned services of fingerprint experts.
The SIT conducted extensive
probe and examined more than 1000 CCTV cameras and also the neighbouring routes up to Tindivanam, Arani, Arcot and Ambour areas in neighbouring Tamilnadu.
The probe led to Sundar of Arcot and his accomplices G.Senthilkumar and N Mohanavelu.
The police official said that the investigation team recovered gold jewels weighing 242 grams and valued at Rs 35 lakhs along with Rs 1.12 lakh in cash from them. All the three were arrested. PTI CORR SA
