Instead of choosing the traditional route of marriage and family, Chinese women are focusing on their happiness and independence. A video recently went viral, talking about this growing trend in the country. In the clip, the digital content creator shared how wealthy Chinese women are choosing to stay single rather than settle for

“traditional relationships.” She mentioned that these women still enjoy companionship and care, but without commitments.

Kens Helps With Household Chores And Provide Emotional Support

“Feminism in China is on a different level. A lot of wealthy Chinese ladies are staying single, or at least they don’t want traditional relationships. So they will hire what is called a Ken, basically a young, pretty male nanny,” the creator said. These Kens help with household chores like cooking and cleaning, go shopping, and even provide emotional support, much like a partner would.

The creator added, “Believe it or not, this is a real service industry. These guys are totally professional. They are fit, tall, over six feet, emotionally stable, gentle and detail-oriented. They can cook, clean, tidy up, drive, even pick up your kids from school. They will never argue with you and will be available anytime to meet your needs.”

She even cited a real example to make everyone believe that such a system really does exist in China. “There’s a rich lady from my yoga studio who actually does this. She’s in her 40s, single, successful, rich, got her own business, very well established. And she got multiple Kens. She rotates them every few months, depending on her moods,” the creator mentioned.

Internet Points Out Women Have Been Giving Such Service For “Free” For Years

The Internet found the concept amusing. In no time, people online began reacting to the video, with one user saying, “I wanna be a rich lady in my 40s, that’s my first goal.”

Another joked, “Yes, I’m willing to pay a pretty Ken to clean my windows. Forget dating apps, I need a Ken app!!”

“And they get paid, unlike traditional wives,” a different user pointed out.

“Imagine, men have had this privilege all this time for free. A woman takes care of his whole life. I wish I had support like that. FOR FREE,” someone else mentioned.

Since the clip was posted, it has garnered over 4.4 million views. One section highlights how women have been doing such work for centuries without getting paid, while another section wanted to experience such service firsthand.
