PVR Inox Shares Jump 7% After Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar Box Office Success

PVR Inox Share Price: PVR Inox shares surged 7 per cent intraday on Monday as Ranveer Singh’s movie Dhurandhar has stormed cinemas across India. At noon, the scrip was trading at Rs 1,101.30 apiece with a gain of 4.70 per cent. Earlier, it touched the day’s high at Rs 1,134 apiece, against the previous cay close at Rs 1.051 apiece.

Dhurandhar Storms Box Office

Dhurandhar opened with a solid Rs 28 crore on its first Friday, instantly placing itself among the biggest openers of the year. The momentum picked up on Saturday with Rs 32 crore, followed by a strong jump on Sunday when the film collected Rs 43 crore.

By the end of its first week, the film had already collected Rs 207.25 crore — a figure that most films take far longer to reach.

The film has overtaken Simmba (Rs 240.30

crore) to become Ranveer Singh’s biggest hit in nearly seven years. It has also surpassed Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs 244.14 crore), making it Aditya Dhar’s highest-grossing directorial so far.

At present, Dhurandhar stands as Ranveer Singh’s second-highest domestic grosser, behind only Padmaavat, which collected Rs 400 crore. Given the current pace, trade expects Dhurandhar to move closer to that figure in the coming days.

The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role alongside Sara Arjun. While the film is said to be the most violent one from Indian cinema, fans are lauding the Hollywood-level scale on which the story is visualised. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R Madhavan in important roles.

Recently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted an ‘Adult Only – A’ certificate to Dhurandhar movie. The certificate also went viral on social media when netizens noticed that it also mentioned the film’s plot. It revealed that the film revolves around the Kandahar Hijack of December 1999.
