“Many times I used to think about my own self and be like — it would be cool to be this self-assured in so many situations where otherwise I would just be under a quilt.”

Playing a Character She Isn’t Sure She Could Be in Real Life

Nimrat acknowledged that her character’s decisiveness and fearlessness stand in sharp contrast to her own conditioning, upbringing, and instincts.

“What I’m trying to sell as an idea on screen, I’m not sure if I can pull it off in real life. I really don’t know if I have it in me. This is the freedom of being an actor.”

The role, she added, reminded her of how acting allows her to inhabit worlds and personalities beyond what her real life might allow.
