Luv Ranjan Explains Why Vadh 2 Is A Thematic Sequel

Vadh 2, the much-anticipated crime thriller starring Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, is set to release in theatres on February 6, 2026. Produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under Luv Films and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, the film promises to retain the intensity and realism that made the original Vadh a hit.

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Luv Ranjan said, “It doesn’t start from where part one ended. The characters are different, but their ideology is the same.” Vadh 2continues to explore the moral dilemmas and unexpected actions of ordinary people when pushed to their limits.

Casting Choices Add to the Suspense

Sanjay Mishra returns in a challenging role, alongside Neena Gupta. Luv Ranjan highlighted that Mishra’s casting adds an element

of surprise. “When a common man goes to an extreme you don’t expect, that’s where the fun and tension lie,” he said.

The film also features Kumud Mishra in a pivotal role, with newer talents like Amitt K. Singh, Akshay Dogra, Yugika Bihani, and Shilpa Shukla adding depth to the ensemble cast.

While discussing the potential of Vadh as a franchise, Luv Ranjan compared it with films like Drishyam. “As a producer, I would definitely want Vadh to be an extremely successful franchise, but that is something audiences will decide,” he said.
