What Happened To Rajesh Sharma?
Rajesh Sharma was recently admitted to Manipal Hospital in Kolkata after suffering a serious insect bite while filming for a Prabhas starrer at Ramoji Film City. Sudipa Chatterjee took to her Instagram to share a health update on the actor, revealing that after wrapping up the shoot at Ramoji Film City, he was chatting with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation when he suffered an insect bite.
Assuming it was just an insect bite, he did not pay much attention to it. As per the note shared by Chatterjee, around six hours later, he began experiencing severe pain in his right leg. As he boarded a flight to Kolkata, his health deteriorated and he developed a high fever. Following this, he was taken to hospital.
AICWA Writes To Telangana CM, Demands Probe
Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written a letter to the Telangana CM Revanth Reddy requesting for a high-level investigation into the incident. “Considering the gravity of his condition, AICWA believes that a thorough, independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to this medical emergency during the shooting of Fauji is absolutely essential. If Actor Rajesh Sharma’s condition became so serious during the shoot, why was he not immediately admitted to one of Hyderabad’s leading hospitals by the producer and production house? Was adequate emergency medical assistance available on the set? Were all mandatory health, hygiene and workplace safety protocols being followed?” a part of its letter read.
For now, Sharma is hospitalised but is reportedly out of danger.
