A Rajasthan-based whistleblower who claims to have alerted authorities about the alleged NEET 2026 paper leak has said he approached the police and later informed the National Testing Agency (NTA) after coming across suspicious activities on the day of the examination.
Shashikant Suthar, a resident of Sikar district, told News18 that he received information about alleged irregularities linked to the medical entrance examination on the day NEET was conducted and decided to raise the issue immediately.
According to Suthar, he first approached the police late at night but was asked to return with supporting documents and evidence.
He said he later collected screenshots, documents and other material before forwarding the information to the NTA and other agencies.
“Within around two hours, we started receiving calls and after that the NTA and other agencies initiated action,” Suthar said.
The alleged NEET 2026 paper leak controversy has triggered nationwide debate and intensified scrutiny over the conduct of competitive examinations.
Amid the controversy, Suthar also defended students and the education ecosystem of Sikar, a major coaching hub in Rajasthan known for producing high scores in national entrance examinations.
“Sikar students achieve good results because they work extremely hard. These are highly dedicated students. The entire student community should not be viewed negatively because of a few allegations,” he said.
Sources said Suthar had been collecting documents and information related to the alleged leak for some time before the matter escalated to the national level, prompting multiple agencies to step up their investigation.
His role in bringing attention to the alleged irregularities has now become a major talking point in Rajasthan’s education sector, with several students and parents saying that speaking up on transparency in national-level examinations is not easy.
Suthar said his intention was not to target any student or institution but to protect the interests of candidates who prepare honestly for competitive exams.
“If there is any irregularity in a national examination, the biggest loss is suffered by hardworking students. That is why the truth must come out,” he said.
Investigations into the alleged NEET 2026 paper leak are currently underway, with agencies examining documents, possible networks and the sequence of events linked to the case.
