In an incident that has left Bengaluru residents furious, six young children–none appearing older than 10-12 years, were spotted riding a single scooter on a crowded road on the morning of 26 April.
The shocking scene reported took place around 10:45 AM on Padarayanapura Main Road near Goripalya, opposite Total Engineer Auto Gas. Photos shared by eyewitness Shreyas on X clearly show one small boy precariously handling the handlebars while five others squeezed tightly behind him- no helmets, no adult supervision, just pure recklessness on a busy city road.
The scooter’s registration number was clearly visible, and the post quickly went viral, tagging Bengaluru Traffic Police and City Police. Within hours, thousands of angry reactions poured in.
“Arrest the parents immediately!” became the common cry. Many users slammed the guardians for endangering innocent lives. One commenter wrote, “This is not parenting, this is criminal negligence. One wrong move and all six kids could have been seriously injured or worse.”
Former Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao also reacted strongly, urging authorities to take the strictest possible action under the Motor Vehicles Act and BNS.
“Take strict action against the owners or parents…to send a strong message to all,” he posted.

This is not a one-time event, just a day earlier, another video surfaced showing a child too small to even reach the seat properly attempting to ride another scooter in heavy traffic – standing on the footboard and jumping off to stop.
The images have sparked a massive debate on summer vacation carelessness, absent parenting, and zero fear of law in the city. One user commented, “This kid is intern at Yumlok Inc. Once his probation is over he will be given live projects to help Yamraj achieve targets of his department.”
Negligence or Ignorance? Minor Riding two wheeler KA-04-JU-7038 in Traffic Raises Concern
Look at this boy his age, his height and what he is doing on a busy public road. He appears to be no more than 10 years old, yet he is riding a two-wheeler in traffic. He isn’t even able to… pic.twitter.com/Ds7tAtSK4R

Even Bengaluru traffic stepped in to check on the incident by commenting on the same video post, “kindly share exact location.”
Another user chimed in saying, “His parents will tell they didn’t know about it and in their absence the child took it.”
Road safety experts point out that two-wheelers already account for a huge share of accidents in Bengaluru. Letting underage kids ride without protection turns busy roads into death traps.
The public outrage is clear: Road safety must begin at home. Parents cannot treat scooters like toys and children’s lives like an experiment.
Bengaluru Traffic Police have been repeatedly tagged, and citizens are now demanding not just a fine, but vehicle seizure, strict punishment, and awareness drives so no parent thinks this is acceptable.
One small mistake at even moderate speed can destroy multiple young lives forever.
