Vice President JD Vance on Wednesday reached Fort Campbell in Kentucky, where he, Second Lady Usha Vance and their children spent the afternoon serving an early Thanksgiving meal to US Army soldiers stationed
at the base. The vice president is marking the holiday with troops and their families, accompanied by US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll.
The Vance children also pitched in, with young Mirabel Vance winning hearts online for taking charge of a very important assignment — ensuring every soldier’s plate had enough butter.
Vance met service members at the dining facility, helped serve meals and interacted with troops before delivering remarks scheduled for later in the afternoon. His visit is part of the administration’s Thanksgiving outreach to military communities.
“Mirabel Vance making sure every soldier gets butter is peak American patriotism. Future First Daughter already out here securing the most critical condiment,” posted one user.

“Special shoutout to Mirabel Vance, making sure everyone got butter on time. This is what holiday spirit looks like,” posted another.
Vance’s wife Usha Vance — and their marriage — have come under public scrutiny after she was recently photographed without her wedding ring. Usha’s spokesperson said she simply forgot it due to her busy schedule as a mother of three. The public scrutiny of their marriage began when Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September 2025, shared a public embrace with Vice President JD Vance at a TPUSA event on October 29, triggering widespread speculation on social media.
In her defence, Erika has described the hug as a sincere emotional moment, reflecting grief and gratitude, calling physical touch part of her “love language.” She stressed that speculation around dating or a relationship is unfounded.
