Actress-turned-politician Hema Malini on Thursday hosted a prayer meeting in New Delhi for her late husband, actor Dharmendra. In a video that was shared on social media by the news agency ANI, Hema Malini was seen arriving at the Ambedkar International Centre, where the prayer meet was organised in the late actor’s memory. Hema was also seen putting flowers in front of Dharmendra’s photograph as a heartfelt tribute. She was also accompanied by her daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol.
Dharmendra’s prayer meet in Delhi was also attended by Union Minister Ramdas Athawale. “I had a good relationship with Dharmendra ji. His passing is a great loss to the film industry, a huge loss for Bollywood. He was also a Member of Parliament. On behalf of the Republican
Party of India, I offer my heartfelt condolences. We will always remember him,” he told reporters after paying tributes to the late actor.

Dharmendra passed away on November 24. Previously, his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, also held a prayer meeting in Mumbai, which was attended by several Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Malaika Arora, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Rekha, Jackie Shroff and Suniel Shetty.
Meanwhile, Hema Malini also recently shared a deeply personal note on social media, reflecting on life after his passing. On the occasion of Dharmendra’s birthday, she wrote, “Dharam ji. Happy birthday my dear heart. More than two weeks have passed since you left me heartbroken, slowly gathering up the pieces and trying to reconstruct my life, knowing that you will always be with me in spirit. The joyful memories of our life together can never be erased and just reliving those moments bring me great solace and happiness.”
“I thank God for our lovely years together, for our two beautiful girls who reaffirm our love for each other and for all the beautiful, happy memories that will remain with me in my heart. On your birthday, my prayers for God to grant you the wealth of peace and happiness that you richly deserve for your humility and goodness of heart and your love for humanity. Happy birthday dear love. Our happy ‘together’ moments,” the actress added.
Dharmendra’s final on-screen appearance will be seen in Ikkis, which is slated to release in theatres on December 25, 2025. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film also stars Agastya Nanda and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles.
