New Delhi, Apr 3 (PTI) The Delhi government has formed a dedicated special internal cell under the Urban Development Department for more efficient coordination of the stakeholder agencies involved in development works, officials said on Friday.
The decision to constitute the 20-member cell including officers from the Delhi Jal Board, Public Works Department, Irrigation and Flood Control, Environment and Forest, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) among others was taken in a meeting of a high-level committee on the rejuvenation of the Yamuna chaired by the Chief Minister Rekha Gupta last month, they said.
The cell headed by the member secretary of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee will discharge the function
of submitting draft compliance reports. It will coordinate the issues among the departments concerned and the exchange of information.
The panel will also work as a coordination committee for road-cutting permissions between departments. Restoration of streets in unauthorised colonies and villages where sewer network and house connection are in place or yet to be laid out will also be coordinated by the committee, the officials said.
All work agencies will share their plans over a year, a decade and 15 years, for effective coordination and synchronisation of developmental efforts and avoiding multiple road-cutting through clubbing work.
The departments and agencies have been directed to cooperate with the cell, adhere strictly to the prescribed timelines and submit regular status of work, they added. PTI VIT VIT KSS KSS
