Noida, Jul 28 (PTI) A roadside divider collapsed near the Sector 16 Metro station in Noida following heavy rainfall on Tuesday, leaving a motorcyclist with minor injuries, police said.
According to the Phase 1 police station, a nearly 50-metre-long divider gave way due to the heavy rain and fell onto the road. A biker passing through the area sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Police personnel and officials of the Noida Authority rushed to the spot and carried out clearance work to restore traffic movement and prevent congestion.
Meanwhile, heavy rain led to waterlogging in several parts of Noida, affecting roads and low-lying areas. Waterlogging was reported from Sector 126, Burari and other localities.
Senior officials of the Noida Authority,
along with engineers from the civil and water departments, conducted inspections across the city to assess the impact of the rainfall.
The officials reviewed the situation relating to waterlogging, drainage systems, roads and other civic infrastructure and directed field teams to expedite dewatering operations, deploy additional resources at affected locations and ensure prompt action for public convenience.
They also instructed officials to maintain continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas and take immediate remedial measures wherever required. PTI COR KIS APL
