Jaipur, Jul 27 (PTI) Former Masuda MLA Brahmdev Kumawat died of a heart attack on Monday, family sources said.
Kumawat, a resident of Bandanwara in Ajmer district, fell ill suddenly at his home. He was being taken to Ajmer city for treatment, when he died on the way, they said.
His last rites will be performed on Tuesday at Bandanwara, his native village.
Kumawat was elected as an Independent MLA from the Masuda Assembly Seat in 2008. He later extended unconditional support to the Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot, and also served as a parliamentary secretary.
Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly Tika Ram Jully expressed grief over his demise.
