After the conclusion of the game, Barca starboy Lamine Yamal mimicked the ‘three points in the pocket’ celebration, rubbing their triumph over their Catalan rivals.

Fermin Lopez set up Olmo’s goal and then provided the assist for Lewandowski’s second as Barcelona claimed their ninth consecutive league victory, ending Espanyol’s streak of five wins in a row.

Barcelona’s goalkeeper, Joan Garcia, who previously played for Espanyol, delivered an exceptional performance, frustrating the Los Periquitos’ fans. The supporters displayed banners directed at Garcia, reading, “You were one of us and we won’t forgive you” and “Your love for the club was never real,” as well as messages such as “You left for the biggest rival, JUDAS!” and “Rat.”

Garcia finished the match with a clean sheet and six saves against his former club for the Catalan giants. In a notable moment, Garcia pushed defender Gerard Martin towards the ball to save a shot, a tactic that proved successful.

“We didn’t deserve it, I’ll be honest, but in the end the quality we brought on the pitch after the changes decided the game,” Flick admitted.

“First of all I have to say thank you to Joan Garcia because he played unbelievably. He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world,” the German coach added.
