Sanskruti Jayana has made her big-screen debut with the mythological epic Krishnavataram, and her performance as Satyabhama has already begun drawing attention. The actress, who plays one of the film’s most emotionally layered characters, has been appreciated for her graceful screen presence, expressive performance and classical elegance.
As the film continues its theatrical run, Sanskruti has now opened up about preparing for her debut role and the responsibility she felt while bringing Satyabhama’s story to audiences.
Sanskruti Jayana On Playing Satyabhama
For Sanskruti, stepping into Satyabhama’s world was nothing short of a divine experience. Speaking about the character, she shared that the role allowed her to understand love, devotion and transformation
on a deeply personal level.
She said, “I learnt so much through this journey because Satyabhama was real, unapologetic, flawed, yet someone who loved Krishna fully and intensely. She was innocent, emotional, and so deeply human. As Sanskruti, I relate to her transformation immensely from who she was to becoming more unconditional in her love. It has been the most special role of my life, and I don’t know if I will ever feel this attached to a character again.”
Her words reflect the emotional attachment she developed towards the character, especially Satyabhama’s journey from passionate love to a more unconditional and spiritual understanding of devotion.
Sanskruti On Preparing For Her Debut Role
Beyond working on her body language, walk and dialogue delivery, Sanskruti said she focused deeply on understanding the purity of Satyabhama’s devotion towards Krishna. For the actress, the challenge was not only to look the part but also to feel the emotion with honesty.
She shared, “I knew her love for Krishna had to reflect through my eyes. For that, I personally tried to connect closely with Krishna with complete honesty and purity. Only when something feels real within you, it reflects truthfully on screen. Through different practices, I tried to reach that emotional and spiritual space.”
The actress’ preparation appears to have gone beyond the technical demands of performance, as she tried to access the spiritual and emotional core of Satyabhama’s love for Krishna.
