Teagan Croft And Milo Manheim To Star In Disney’s Tangled Live Action

Disney is moving forward with a live-action adaptation of its 2010 animated hit Tangled, and fans now know who will play the lead roles. Teagan Croft has been cast as Rapunzel, while Milo Manheim will portray

Flynn Rider. Croft, an Australian actress, is known for her roles in TV shows like Home and Away and DC’s Titans. Manheim, son of actress Camryn Manheim, is recognised for his work in Disney’s Zombies movies and his appearance on Dancing With the Stars.

After last year’s live-action Snow White underperformed at the box office, earning just $87 million domestically and $205 million worldwide, many wondered if the studio would halt its live-action remakes. However, the success of Lilo & Stitch showed that audiences remain eager for reimagined classics. With Tangled, Disney hopes to capture that same excitement once again.

Disney Announces Live Action Tangled With Teagan Croft And Milo Manheim

The original animated film follows Rapunzel, a teenage girl with 70 feet of magical hair, who has been locked away in a tower for years. Dreaming of freedom, she finally gets a chance to escape when she meets Flynn Rider, a charming thief hiding in her tower. Together, they devise a plan to break free, embarking on a thrilling adventure. In the 2010 animated film, Mandy Moore voiced Rapunzel, while Zachary Levi brought Flynn Rider to life.

Walt Disney Studios announced the final casting of the lead character on social media and wrote, “Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim are Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in the live-action reimagining of Disney’s Tangled. Coming only to theatres.”

Tangled was first reported to be in early development in December 2024, but was put on hold due to Snow White’s failure. Now, it joins a long list of classics that have been reimagined for the big screen, including The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, Dumbo, The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Lilo & Stitch and Moana.

Supporting Cast Still Under Wraps

So far, Disney has not announced any other cast members for the live-action. Scarlett Johansson was reportedly in talks to play Mother Gothel, Rapunzel’s evil captor, who was originally voiced by Donna Murphy in the animated film, according to Deadline. However, no official confirmation has been made about her role or the rest of the supporting cast.

Michael Gracey, the director behind Better Man and The Greatest Showman, is set to helm the live-action Tangled. He will lead the project starring Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider.
