Dutch-Moldovan travel couple Wes and Nico had mixed feelings after taking an Indian train from Delhi to Agra during their trip across India. The couple had been travelling around the country for about a month when they booked an AC sleeper cabin for their two-hour journey to see the Taj Mahal.
Their ticket cost around 6 Euros, or about Rs 660. Nico said finding their coach and seats was confusing at first. But once they reached their cabin, the experience was much better than they had expected.
The Train Cabin Surprised The Couple
Nico said their AC cabin was clean and had enough space for the short trip. It had two beds, curtains, a mirror, working lights and air conditioning. “Finding the right carriage and our seats was a little hectic,” she
said.
The couple said the cabin was comfortable and the low ticket price made the journey feel like a good deal. “We honestly expected much worse,” she said, calling the trip an “absolute bargain” for 6 Euros.
However, their opinion changed when they checked the toilets.
The Toilets Were A Different Story
Nico described the train toilets as “disgusting”. Since the journey lasted only two hours, the couple said they were relieved that they did not have to spend a long time dealing with them. They also noticed that food and drinks were easily available during the journey.
Passengers could order food to their seats, while vendors moved through the train selling different items. The couple decided not to buy food from the vendors, saying they did not want to take the chance.
While the train itself left them with a better impression than expected, reaching Agra brought a very different experience.
Agra Station Left Nico Overwhelmed
The couple described the railway station in Agra as “absolute chaos” after getting off the train. Nico ended the short video with a joking comment about what might happen to her after arriving at the busy station. “They’re gonna kick me out of Agra.”
