A routine IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Vadodara saw an unexpected moment on board when a pigeon entered the aircraft just before take-off, briefly causing confusion among passengers and crew. A video
of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
The bird was seen circling above passengers’ heads as it attempted to find a way out. Cabin crew members, along with a few passengers, tried to catch it, but the pigeon continued flying across the aisle.
The moment was recorded by a digital creator on board, who later shared the clip on Instagram with the caption: “A surprise guest in the flight by @logon.2.vikram . A moment of joy and humour. Enjoyed.”

The video quickly gathered traction online, with users posting light-hearted comments such as, “Ab extra weight ka paisa kisse lega IndiGo?”, and “Today’s bro decided to fly at 900kmph.” Others joked that the pigeon had a “birding pass”.
The light-hearted incident comes at a time when IndiGo is working to stabilise operations after days of delays and cancellations across the country. According to the civil aviation ministry, the airline has processed refunds worth Rs 610 crore so far and has delivered 3,000 pieces of baggage delayed due to the disruptions.
The government said the aviation network is steadily returning to normal, with IndiGo’s flight operations increasing from 706 on Friday to over 1,500 by Saturday. The airline has also been instructed to complete all pending refunds and ensure that misplaced baggage is traced and returned within 48 hours.
