Three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winners Kolkata Knight Riders faced Gujarat Titans in match number 60 of IPL 2026 on Saturday (May 16) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and the match, which KKR won by 29 runs, entered its name in the history books for a very special record.

According to Cricbuzz, KKR vs GT is the first-ever T20 game with six individual 50+ scores.
For KKR, opening batter Finn Allen played a superb knock of 93 runs from just 35 balls, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green remained unbeaten on 82 and 52 runs, respectively. Whereas in the second half, Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler and Sai Sudharsan scored half-centuries for the Ahmedabad-based franchise.
Skipper Gill top-scored
for the Gujarat Titans by making 85 runs from 49 balls, Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 53 from 28 balls, and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler hammered 57 runs from 35 balls as a No. 4 batter in the 248-run chase.

Sudharsan creates history
24-year-old left-handed batter B Sai Sudharsan entered his name in the history books on Saturday by becoming the first player in the world to score 3000 runs in T20s in less than 80 innings.
Sudharsan, who was playing his 79th T20 match on Saturday, needed just 78 innings to join the 3000-run club in the 20-over format of the game. By reaching the 3000-run mark in 78 innings, Sudharsan became the fastest batter in the world to score 3000 T20 runs.
The previous record of being the fastest player in the world to score 3000 runs in T20s was in the name of former Australian batter Shaun Marsh. Marsh, who played in the IPL for Punjab Kings, scored his 3000th run in the 85th innings.
