Purnea, Sept 9 (PTI) The headless body of a woman was recovered from a bush in Bihar’s Purnea district on Wednesday, police said.
The woman’s torso, dressed in a salwar suit, was found near the Baijnathpur-Kalyanpur bridge in the jurisdiction of the Kamakhya Sthan police outpost, they said.
The woman was identified as a resident of the Jankinagar police station area. Her husband works as a labourer in Punjab, they added.
SSP Shaurya Suman said the woman was allegedly known to an acquaintance who lives in a village near the crime scene, and police suspect his involvement in the incident.
“Efforts are underway to find him,” Suman said.
Preliminary investigation also suggested that the woman had been having disputes with her family, police said.
Some
women from a neighbouring village, who had gone to cut grass around 1 pm, spotted the body and alerted locals.
