instantly captured attention, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna extended his warm congratulations to Malayalam legend. He called him the most deserving man.
Recently, Nagarjuna, Vijay Sethupathi and Mohanlal were seen attending an event in Chennai. Taking the opportunity, Nagarjuna congratulated Malayalam superstar on receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He said, “I actually pulled the mic from brother Vijay (Sethupathi) because I wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate Mohanlal garu on receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. I call it prestigious because I remember my father (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) receiving this honour years ago. This award is so pure and prestigious, and it has come to the most deserving actor.”
Mohanlal Expresses Gratitude After the prestigious win
He was recently conferred with one of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He has expressed heartfelt gratitude. Celebrities like Allu Arjun and Mammooty also celebrated his big win. Taking to his Instagram handle, Mohanlal shared photos from the ceremony and wrote, ‘Gratitude’. Immediately, fans also reacted. The actor was conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest award in the field of cinema, at the National Film Awards 2025. Filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan was the first recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award from Kerala. He received the honour in 2004.
Mohanlal began his speech by saying, “It is with profound pride and gratitude that I stand before you today, having received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, an honour instituted by the Government of India in the name of the revered father of Indian cinema.” I am deeply humbled to be the second from our state to be bestowed with this national recognition. This moment is not mine alone; it is also of the entire Malayalam cinema fraternity. I see this award as a collective tribute to our industry, creativity, legacy, and resilience. When I first received the news from the state, I was overwhelmed, not really by the honour, but by the privilege to carry forward the voice of our cinematic tradition,” he further continued.

PM Narendra Modi penned a heartfelt note to congratulate him. Taking to X, the PM of the country wrote, “Shri Mohanlal Ji epitomises excellence and versatility. With a rich body of work spanning decades, he stands as a leading light of Malayalam cinema, theatre, and is deeply passionate about the culture of Kerala. He has also delivered remarkable performances in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films. His cinematic and theatrical brilliance across mediums is truly inspiring.
