'Who Is She?': Rajesh Khanna's Rumoured Girlfriend Recalls His Meeting With His Biological Sister

Rajesh Khanna, the first-ever superstar of Hindi cinema, who would have thought that a man with millions of fans, behind all his glitz and glamour, was carrying an emotional wound he never showed the world? Recently, in a conversation, Khanna’s rumoured girlfriend, Anita Advani, opened up about the vulnerable side of the superstar that not many know.

Speaking on the Meri Saheli podcast, Anita revealed that Rajesh Khanna was adopted, and the news came as a shock to him. Recalling the superstar’s meeting with his biological sister, Advani shared, “He wasn’t close to his biological sisters or family. Once his sister came to meet him and he asked, ‘Who is she?’ There wasn’t much of an emotional connection.”

Anita also spoke about how Rajesh Khanna

was suspicious of everyone. Speaking about it, Anita said, “He was suspicious of everyone. If you ask me psychologically, I think he lost his trust in people. First, he was adopted. Then he was betrayed in relationships. Friends in the industry also betrayed him. Even those whom he had helped and made successful eventually went against him. He became suspicious of everyone.”

According to Anita, many thought Khanna became difficult over the years, but she believes it was because he lost trust in people. Advani shared, “People ask why there were so many changes in his personality, why he became so difficult. His life itself began on a complicated note. He was adopted, and when he came to know about it, it was a huge shock for him.”

Rajesh Khanna was one of Hindi cinema’s biggest superstars and is widely regarded as India’s first “superstar.” He made his acting debut with Aakhri Khat (1966) and rose to unprecedented fame with films such as Aradhana, Anand, Kati Patang, Amar Prem, Haathi Mere Saathi, and Safar. Apart from his film career, Rajesh Khanna also entered politics and served as a Member of Parliament from New Delhi between 1992 and 1996. He was married to actress Dimple Kapadia, and they have two daughters, Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna.

Rajesh Khanna passed away at the age of 69 in 2012. He spent a few years at the peak of his fame, basking in adoration, and then spent the rest of his life chasing that glory in different forms.
