In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old female cabin crew member of a private airline allegedly died by suicide at her rented flat in Hyderabad’s Rajendranagar, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on October 24 when the deceased, identified as Janvi Gupta, was reportedly in the flat with two colleagues and another friend.
According to the details, one of Janvi’s friends present at the flat works as a captain with the airline. He had arrived in Hyderabad late Thursday night and went to Janvi’s flat at her invitation.
The group reportedly partied at the apartment, and around 4 am, Janvi went into her room and did not return. When she did not respond to knocks for nearly 40 minutes, the others forced the door open and found her hanging.
Janvi was rushed to a hospital, where the doctors declared her dead on arrival. Police then shifted the body for autopsy and informed her family based on details provided by her friends.
As per her mother, Janvi was battling with depression for the past few months.
Based on the complaint, Rajendranagar police registered a case under section 194 (suspicious death) of the BNSS. Police handed over Janvi’s body to the family after the postmortem.
