In the viral clip, the officer from the Uttar Pradesh Police, Vijay Gupta, can be seen making Diwali memorable for an elderly woman by purchasing all the clay lamps she was struggling to sell.
The video, which has gone viral, was posted by @MeghUpdates on X with the caption, “This Dhanteras, Amma’s clay lamps found no buyers. Seeing this, Station In-charge Vijay Gupta bought all her diyas and brightened not just her stall, but her heart too. Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. The footage captures the moment Gupta along with his junior approach the woman’s stall and buy every diya she had. The elderly seller shares that no customer had visited her the entire day until the officers stopped by. Overwhelmed with emotion, she blesses them, saying, “May my blessings remain in your hearts. May you live a long life,” and expresses her heartfelt gratitude. Toward the end of the video, the officer hands her Rs 1,000 as well.
