May 29 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel on Friday extended greetings to the people of Goa ahead of the state’s Foundation Day on May 30.
In a message issued by the Jan Bhavan (formerly Raj Bhavan), the governor said, “Goa, known for its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions, represents India’s unity in diversity.” She expressed hope that the coastal state would continue to progress on the path of prosperity and cultural excellence while strengthening the unity and integrity of the country.
Goa was granted full statehood in 1987 and became the 25th state of India. The state is widely known for its beaches and as a popular tourist destination. PTI KIS DV DV
