London, Sep 12 (PTI) A Swiss private bank founded by late Indian entrepreneur Srichand Parmanand Hinduja has been rebranded as ARYA Banque Privée in honour of the bridge-building legacy of its founder. Headquartered in Geneva, the family legacy is carried forward by his daughter, Shanu S P Hinduja, as chair of the bank, which recently entered a fresh phase with a new executive team and a renewed focus.
Building on its founder’s vision of connecting Switzerland and India, ARYA has also developed a unique access solution to Indian equities for Swiss investors. “Fostering closer economic ties between Switzerland, Europe and India has been at the heart of our family’s vision for decades,” Shanu Hinduja told PTI. “This commitment traces back to Srichand
P Hinduja’s belief in building bridges between the two countries. He was the first Indian entrepreneur with a Swiss banking license. Therefore, we welcome developments that further strengthen trade, investment and shared prosperity,” she said. She explained that the name ARYA comes from the Sanskrit word for honour, integrity and noble conduct and reflects an institution that pairs Swiss rigour with an international perspective and a deep understanding of entrepreneurial families.
This commitment to continuity and long-term thinking lies at the heart of the bank’s transition to ARYA, she said. From the Indian perspective, the bank’s chair shared that it is establishing a dedicated team to further develop and market Indian equities to Swiss institutional investors. “Originally initiated by the former CEO of S P Hinduja Banque Privée, my son Karam, the project is now being taken forward by our management team, reflecting our continued belief in India’s long-term growth potential and our ambition to create innovative investment opportunities for international investors,” said Shanu Hinduja. On the back of a Swiss finance business established in 1978, S P Hinduja – who passed away aged 87 in May 2023 – founded the private bank in Switzerland in 1994 with a vision to serve entrepreneurs, families and international clients. It is now under the stewardship of his daughters, including Vinoo S P Hinduja as chairwoman of the holding company Hinduja Swiss Holding.
Emphasising that the family’s engagement with India extends beyond business and investment, Shanu Hinduja said: “Through her extensive social and philanthropic engagement, Lavanya Hinduja has made a meaningful contribution to communities across India, reflecting our family’s long-standing dedication to the country’s development and well-being. “For us, economic progress and social responsibility go hand in hand.” The next phase of growth as ARYA Banque Privée is accompanied by Pascal Botteron joining as Chief Executive Officer, Boris Chave as Chief Operating Officer, and Sébastien Micotti as Head of Legal. While ARYA marks the beginning of a new chapter, the values that have guided the bank remain unchanged, the bank reiterated. It pointed out that for existing clients, there will be no operational change as relationship teams, service standards and day-to-day banking relationships remain firmly in place. The bank’s staff and locations will also remain unchanged, with “continuity, discretion and personalised service” at the heart of the new phase. The new brand identity, first unveiled last month, is set to be rolled out in phases to ensure a seamless transition across all client and corporate touchpoints. PTI AK RD RD RD
