Bhopal, Aug 12 (PTI) The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to ban analogue paneer in the state, and strict action will be taken against those producing such a food item, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Wednesday.
Only natural paneer will be allowed to be sold in the state, Yadav told reporters in Bhopal.
“The government has decided to ban the sale of analogue paneer in Madhya Pradesh. It has been banned in other states as well. We have natural milk products here, so we will produce natural paneer. We will build the state’s identity on these products,” he said.
MP is moving ahead to boost milk production and will not promote activities such as the sale of analogue paneer, the CM asserted.
Notably, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Gujarat recently
banned analogue paneer.
Analogue paneer is an alternative to traditional dairy-based paneer in which milk components are partially or completely replaced with non-dairy ingredients, such as vegetable fats or proteins, and other products, which have adverse effects on the human body. PTI MAS GK
