Alia Bhatt and her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, welcomed Ganpati Bappa into their newly built home, KrishnaRaj, in Mumbai this year. They celebrated the festival for five days and did the visarjan last night, September 18. The couple had invited a slew of actors and celebrities to celebrate this festival with them.
For the visarjan, Alia and Ranbir, along with his mother, actor Neetu Kapoor, stepped out of their home together to also let the paparazzi have a glance at the murti. Alia was also seen carrying her young daughter Raha in her arms, shielding her from the incessant glare of the cameras, as Ranbir carried their Ganpati idol in his arms.

For this spiritual moment, Alia Bhatt chose a vibrant fuchsia pink short kurta with a lime green farshi salwar by the brand MulMul, which comes with a price tag of Rs 18,950. The ensemble is crafted in smooth Cupro Satin, which is a plant-based, sustainable fabric. The kurta has a hint of turquoise green embroidery and gold print along the sleeves that was also carried down to the farshi salwar. A current fashion trend in India, farshi salwar is a traditional, wide-legged, floor-sweeping trouser originating from the Mughal era.
Alia Bhatt kept her jewellery relatively minimal, wearing statement earrings, while her hair is pulled back neatly into a simple ponytail. A small bindi completes the traditional styling.
Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, chose a rust-orange kurta with a relaxed, straight silhouette. The kurta has a subtle textured finish, along with a buttoned neckline and full sleeves. Its rich orange tone gives the otherwise simple outfit a festive touch. He paired the kurta with crisp white pants, creating a classic colour combination that keeps the look clean and easy-going. The kurta falls comfortably over the trousers, giving the ensemble a relaxed yet polished appearance.
To say goodbye to Ganpati, Neetu wore a blue kurta set featuring a geometric pattern. She wore a long straight kurta, which had a comfortable silhouette. She paired it with matching blue trousers. Her styling is kept understated, with small earrings, neatly styled hair and minimal accessories.
