The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has opened Namo Bharat trains for personal celebrations, allowing passengers to mark special occasions such as birthdays, pre-wedding shoots and
other private events. Under this new initiative, individuals, event planners and businesses can rent either a static or running Namo Bharat coach.
According to a PTI report, a mock-up coach will be available at the Duhai Depot exclusively for static shoots. The NCRTC stated that the modern design of the Namo Bharat coaches offers a unique, visually appealing backdrop for photos and informal gatherings.
How Much Does Booking A Namo Bharat Coach Cost?
Bookings begin at Rs 5,000 per hour and include an additional 30 minutes for setting up and dismantling decor or equipment.
What Are The Booking Timings For Private Events?
Celebrations will be permitted only between 6 am and 11 pm and must be organised in a manner that does not interfere with regular train operations.
Which Locations Are Covered Under the New Initiative?
With stations positioned in key locations such as Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad and Meerut South, the initiative aims to attract residents along the Delhi–Meerut corridor. It offers them a familiar yet unique setting to celebrate special milestones and create memorable experiences.
NCRTC: Rules And Regulations
While organisers are free to decorate the coach or station area, the NCRTC has imposed certain limits. Only modest decorations will be authorised, and nothing that may harm the train interiors or disrupt passenger services will be permitted. NCRTC staff and security officers will be present throughout the event to ensure safety and smooth functioning.
What Other Facilities Can Be Booked?
Officials said the NCRTC has also developed a comprehensive premises-hiring policy for film shoots, documentaries, advertisements and other visual projects involving Namo Bharat trains and stations. These spaces will be made available for short-term bookings at competitive rates.
The stations, featuring clean interiors, well-designed lighting and spacious open areas, offer a unique setting for those looking beyond traditional banquet halls or outdoor venues. According to officials, the initiative not only encourages creative expression but also showcases the modern infrastructure in a new light.
